Citi PH makes phone banking verification painless with voice biometrics

Say goodbye to long, tedious phone banking verification processes. Citi officially introduced yesterday its voice biometrics authentication system to give you phone banking that’s not only safe but convenient as well.

With this technology in place, your voice is your password. You no longer need to provide personal information and answer security questions each time you call to transact.

Citi clients can opt to enroll in the system by recording their voices, which takes 30 to 40 seconds. Voices are converted into unique algorithms that will be analyzed in future transactions. Each voice print will be uniquely tagged and cannot be reverse-engineered once stored.  Just like fingerprints, a voice print is unique to every person. Once enrolled, a client’s identity is automatically verified in 15 seconds or less as they freely explain their reason for calling.

Prior to its Philippine roll out, the service has already been implemented in Taiwan, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.
