The Secret Life of Walter Mitty‘s advertising budget was spent on relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in the Philippines.

Filmmaker Casey Neistat took a different approach to “living your dreams,” the theme of the Walter Mitty promotional video he was supposed to make for Twentieth Century Fox. Instead, Neistat suggested to spend the budget on disaster relief for Yolanda survivors.

Fox approved, and Neistat set to the Philippines and bought goods in Cebu to bring to other badly hit towns and villages. According to Variety, Neistat’s team was “able to provide more than 10,000 meals, tools to 35 villages and basic medicine to local organizations.”

So, what happened to the promotional video? Neistat created a short video of his journey, giving real world meaning to “living your dreams.” Watch it below.

How about you? What would you do with $25,000?
