Google brings its Android mobile platform to wearables with the introduction of Android Wear, a Nexus-like OS. The software is specially designed for smartwatches and other wearable tech. This early, Motoral and LG are already teasing with their Moto 360 and G Watch, respectively.

Android Wear offers fast-action, mobile-friendly features. It brings you message notifications and calendar reminders, and lets you send quick responses such as email replies via your smartwatch. Just tap on the truncated message to read the whole content. You may also browse through your Facebook feed and interact with Google Now, including its “OK Google” voice-enable search feature. The OS also supports health-tracking features such as exercise goal reminders and fitness summaries.

To add to these features, Google encourages third-party app developers to push functional possibilities on the new Android mobile platform. These third-party apps will be crucial in offering a broad user experience via wearables.
