Global leader Sony Philippines and local club Black Market, two powerhouse in the music industry, partnered to bring a unique listening experience here in the Philippines.

Starting September 2015 until March 2016, Sony and Black Market will host a series of Silent Parties in Metro Manila for fans of the underground Filipino music scene and other staunch audiophiles.

The Silent Party concept follows the same format as Sony’s ground-breaking Silent Concert held in 2014. From the outside looking in, guests will see musicians performing for a crowd wearing headphones, dancing and grooving to practically silence. To hear the music, the audience need to use one of the available headphones where the sound of the music are directly transmitted.

Speed got to experience this one-of-a-kind music event during the inaugural Silent Party last September 16 at Black Market in Makati.

Sony and Black Market, which is known for its industrial warehouse style that focuses on underground music, aim to take non-commercialized music to the center stage and be appreciated by a bigger audience.

Ranging from hip-hop, house, or even jazz, the Silent Parties will feature some of the Philippines’ best underground music talents such as The Zombettes, Skratchmark, Italo, Yana, Vince Pante and David Sorrenti. Resident DJs such as Erick Ong (Mulan), Red Lintag, (Red-I), Angelo Mendez, PJ Martinez (Don P) and Astrid Reyes (Soulflower) will also be performing in these Silent Parties.

For a better music experience, Sony’s youthful and powerful Xtra Bass line-up of headphones will be used during the Silent Parties. Each of the musicians and resident DJs have their own Sony MDR-1A headphones that are engineered to give an ultra-wideband audio performance, while the guests can pick their poison from either the MDR-XB450AP or the MDR-XB450BV from the Sony Extra Bass headphones series. Both headphones give extra bass hit when the beat drops and are ready for hours of listening to the hottest tracks and remixes from the pool of talents that Black Market will bring.
