Samsung launched their highly anticipated high-end GALAXY Tab S during this year’s annual Galaxy Premiere at Madison Square Garden complex in New York City, June 12.

In line with Samsung’s commitment to the tablet industry (and attempt to catch up with rivals), the South Korean company invited everyone to “Tab into Color” as they unveiled their 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch GALAXY Tab S tablets to the world.

Both tablets boast a high-resolution Super AMOLED display with excellent contrast and saturated colors. Its 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution is comparable to 2x HD or 2K TV. The tablets are adaptive as they change color in different lighting, sharpen text and soften whites when you’re reading, and improve screen according to the environment.

Finally, at 6.6mm-thick, the Tab S is thinner than previous models from Samsung and even Apple’s iPad Air.

The Wi-Fi-only variants, which are reportedly not to be brought in the Philippines, have Samsung’s Exynos 5 Octa chipset with quad 1.3GHz Cortex-A7 and quad 1.9GHz Cortex-A15, instead.

Samsung is expected to start shipping the GALAXY Tab S in July with prices that start at $399 for the 8.4 variant and $499 for the 10.5-incher.

The event coverage was streamed live on Samsung’s YouTube channel, which allowed aficionados all over the world to catch the grand unveiling.
