Suzuki Philippines partners again with the Philippine Football Federation’s Under 23 (PFF U23) Cup to hone promising football players in the country.

The top 10 teams that emerged best from the initial 33 are to compete in the qualifying rounds. Separate eliminations were held in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Masbate, Laguna, and Baguio-Benguet qualified in Luzon; Negros Occidental, Iloilo, Cebu in Visayas; and North Cotabato, Iligan-Lanao del Norte, Davao and Zamboanga del Norte-Dipolog in Mindanao.

The PFF Suzuki U23 Cup will start this month in Dumaguete. Qualifying rounds will run from May 17 until May 28.

The teams will be divided into two divisions, and the champions from both divisions will make it to the home-and-away championship and will compete on May 30.

This is PFF and Suzuki’s third year to team up. The first PFF Suzuki  U23 Cup was held in 2011 following the Philippine Azkals’ performance in the 2010 Asian Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup. Standouts from 2011’s Cup were Joshua Beloya, Neckson Leonora, and Gerardo Valmayo III. They represented the country in the SEA Games in Indonesia last year.
