You just saw a Facebook shout out that your favorite apparel brand is going full blast with a 90 percent discount on its products. Too bad the last date of sale was slated yesterday.

Before you sulk in distress, latest startup mobile app Mobkard promises to inform you of the latest brand discounts so you’ll never have to miss those exciting promos any longer.

Mobkard is the brainchild of Ideaspace-backed TheKard Inc. Last July 28, the startup group announced its partnership with over 200 brands while securing an added P17 million additional funding.

A business-to-communities (B2C) mobile application, Mobkard offers location-based shopping service in the country by alerting you of the best and latest deals from the biggest brands near your location through your mobile phone. The app feeds you with the latest shopping information, exclusive privileges, and deals from a wide array of branches. You can download the application via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Mobkard is a product and one of the first batch of innovators of Ideaspace, the First Pacific-led tech incubator and accelerator for startups. Initially, it provided mobile loyalty solutions to over 14 businesses and organizations including the AIM Alumni, Ateneo Graduate School of Business Alumni, La Salle Green Hills Alumni, PLDT SME Nation, SM Global Pinoy, among others. Now it opened its doors to the general public with the support of more distinguished brands.

Among the notable companies under the hood of Mobkard are Vans, LayBare, 360 Fitness Club, Bizu Patisserie, Nurture Wellness Spa, MedExpress, Sunglass Haven, and Dillingers.

Companies supporting this mobile app’s growth include the country’s leader in digital signage advertising, Globaltronics, Inc. Other companies supporting Ideaspace include First Pacific, First Pacific Leadership Academy, Metro Pacific Investments Corp., Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., MPIC hospital group, PLDT, Meralco, Smart Communications, Digitel Mobile Philippines and its movile vrand Sun Cellular, SPI Global, ePLDT, Indofood, Philex Mining, Maynilad, MediaQuest, and TV5.

According to CEO and The Kard co-founder Francis Uy sees the importance of such an application to the Philippine market. “Everyone loves a good deal, and sometimes, many consumers miss out on discounts and other priveleges simply because they are not aware of them when they enter a particular store. Mobkard brings this wealth of knowledge coser to users through a device that is closest to them – their mobile phones,” he said.

“With Mobkard, there’s no more need to carry discount vouchers and or loyalty cards around because all of the latest deals near you can now be found with just one tap,” Uy added.
