LG gave Speed a sneak peek at its newest 65-inch Ultra HD TV and 3D Blu-Ray Home Theater System.

In an overnight stay at Fraser Place Manila in Makati, Speed got to be the first few to experience the best of LG’s home entertainment with their soon-to-be-released 4K TV and high-end home theater system.

Powered by Real 4K and IPS technology, the 65-inch LG Ultra HD TV eliminates almost all visual errors and converts standard or high-definition content into crisp, near-Ultra HD quality for a clear viewing experience. We have to keep the lights switched on while watching a scary movie because the images look real and vivid.

There’s also an option to change your display to convincing 3D images when 2D just isn’t enough. The TV comes with free 3D glasses for you to really enjoy the theater experience.

We watched several movies in 3D, including Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and Argo. I must say, it’s really good.

The LG Ultra HD TV boasts its intuitive Smart TV platform that allows smooth and seamless searching and viewing of content, connecting to other devices, and initial TV setup process. It has the normal connections and specifications you’d expect, including Wi-Fi, HDMI, MHL, SimpLink, and USB.

The Wii-like remote improved a lot compared with the previous design. It is smaller and is therefore easy to grip. However, the controls are still lacking some features like direct channel select.

Ultra HD TV sports deep, rich audio. LG collaborated with top-of-the-line audio products maker Harman Kardon to equip the Ultra HD TV with ultra surround sound system to increase viewer’s immersion. The audio from the speakers sounds clear and lively, and is definitely a step up from the previous LG TVs.

On top of all that, the impeccable design of the LG Ultra HD TV will elevate the feel of your home with its sleek exterior reminiscent of LG’s classy design aesthetic.

And as if that isn’t enough, LG brought the experience to a whole new level by pairing the LG 9.1-Channel 3D Cinema Sound Home Theater System’s crisp and genuine sounds with the Ultra HD TV. With each of the four vertical speakers set up on the corners of the room, the LG 3D Blu-Ray Home Theater System becomes an audiophile’s dream for high-definition audio system right at home.

The good sound, well-thought out smart functions, passive 3D functionality, and of course, those 4K pictures give an impressive job of justifying the eye-watering P249,990 suggested retail price of the LG Ultra HD TV. The LG 9.1-Channel 3D Cinema Sound Home Theater System, meanwhile, is available at P59,990.
