Just a few weeks after its CES 2014 debut in Las Vegas, the Miix 2 enters the Philippines as Lenovo strengthens its “PC Plus” strategy, expanding the computer category to include laptops, tablets, smartphones, and servers.

The 8-inch Miix 2, which Lenovo introduces two months ahead of the 11-inch version, promises to be a PC in a tablet, with multiple modes that allow you to use the device as a regular handheld tablet, a laptop with the keyboard accessory, and a hands-free multimedia device when on Stand Mode.

It boasts of a quad-core 64-bit Intel Atom processor,  an HD screen with a wide-viewing angle, JBL surround speakers, 64GB internal storage, dual cameras, and a microSD slot that supports up to 32GB. The iteration that Lenovo is bringing in the country also has 3G capability via a microSIM slot. The flip cover also converts into a stand and comes with a stylus.

The Miix 2 runs on a full version of Windows 8.1 and comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013, converting the tablet into a full PC device when coupled with the physical keyboard accessory. Lenovo positions the Miix 2 to target businessmen, executives, and students who are Windows users.

The 8-inch Miix 2 will be available in the Philippines by the end of February with an SRP of P21,999.
