It’s official. The much-leaked Nokia Lumia 1520 is real, as Nokia announced the phablet at Nokia World in Abu Dhabi. But that isn’t the only new model that Nokia introduced to the public. There is also the lower-end brethren, the Lumia 1320, and the first-ever tablet, the Lumia 2520.

The Lumia 1520 boasts of a 6-inch 1080p Full HD 368ppi IPS LCD, 2GB RAM, 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, expandable 32GB memory, and 20MP PureView camera. It is also the first to have the Nokia Camera app. It is also NFC- and LTE-ready. Meanwhile, the Lumia 1320 settles for a 720p screen, dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB RAM, and 5MP non-PureView camera.

Still with a polycarbonate body, the two models will come in different colors: the US$749 1520 in black, white, red, and yellow; the $339 1320 in black, white, orange, and yellow. Both are expected to be available by the end of the year.

The Lumia 2520 is another first from the Nokia-Microsoft tie-up, which seems to be dead serious about offering competitive hardware to boost the Windows OS.

Powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, the 10.1-inch tablet takes in a microSIM and connects via LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, microHDMI, 3.5mm jack, USB, and microUSB. It sports an 8000mAh battery, a 6.7MP camera, a thinness of 8.9mm, 32GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, and 108op Full HD 218ppi IPS LCD.

How this will compete with Windows Surface tablets is yet to be seen, although that seems not to be a concern of the two companies. In the meantime, we here at Speed will count the days before we can review these interesting new models for you. Stay tuned.
