BenQ launches eye-friendly monitors

BenQ launches eye-friendly monitors

Ever wondered why staring at your computer screen all day can cause you headaches and eyestrain? According to BenQ, a regular monitor backlight can cause flickering at 200Hz per second when brightness is reduced. This strains the eye’s ciliary muscle as it tries to adjust to the nearly invisible flickering of the screen. This contributes to eye fatigue, headaches, and even myopia.

To combat this, BenQ launched a new technology for its computer monitors. The new flicker-free monitors adopt a De-flickering Backlight Circuit Controller for a zero-flickering viewing experience.

Other eye-friendly features include anti-glare technology and Senseye Reading Mode, which adjusts the color temperature, brightness, contrast, and sharpness of the monitor to recreate the experience of reading actual books.

Select models also come with Automatic Eye-Protect Sensor, which detects ambient light levels and adjusts the monitor brightness accordingly; Smart Reminder, which prompts users to take a break for a predetermined time interval to allow the user’s eyes to rest; and a height-adjustable stand.

The first BenQ Flicker-free monitor, the 27-inch GW2760HS, is now available locally.
