If you’ve never played either Irrational Games’ BioShock (2007) or BioShock: Infinite (2013), you can’t possibly call yourself a gamer. Those two games have set a whole new standard to gaming with its avant garde approach to storytelling, adaptive gameplay, stunning visuals, and immersive musical scores over the past years.

Ken Levine, the co-founder of Irrational Games and the creative genius behind both critically acclaimed Bioshock titles, announced that he has begun writing for a brand new game.

Levine mentions that for this new project, he looks to pay homage to filmmakers like Paul Thomas Anderson (There Will Be Blood), the Coen brothers (No Country for Old Men), Stanley Kubrick (Full Metal Jacket), and Steven Soderbergh (Ocean’s 11). He also mentions playwright Tom Stoppard and composer Stephen Sondheim for added inspiration.

If you aren’t excited about these announcements, then I suggest you get a hold of the BioShock games and prepare to be dazzled.

That’s right, dazzled.
