Huawei unveiled yesterday its latest flagship, the Mate 8, and two more new devices at the Solaire Grand Ballroom. The event follows the theme “New Style Of Business,” which will be seen throughout Huawei’s releases this year.

Witnessed by members of the Philippine media, Huawei officially launched the much-awaited Huawei Mate 8, the MediaPad M2 8.0 tablet, and GR5 midrange smartphone. The company also introduced a new breed of business elites in the form of eight brand ambassadors: Rajo Laurel, Apples Aberin, Victor Consunji, Sid Maderazo, Jessica Kienle, Gaby dela Merced, Rosebud Benitez, and Kelley Mangahas.

Huawei Mate 8

First seen at CES 2016, the 6-inch Huawei Mate 8 is the first smartphone to run the Kirin 950 chipset. Its metallic unibody frame houses a fingerprint sensor, 4000mAh battery, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 16MP rear camera that uses a Sony stackable image sensor, an 8MP front camera, and NFC and LTE connectivity.

The Huawei GR5 is challenging the midrange standard with a fingerprint sensor, 5.5-inch display, and 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture. It comes with 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, octa-core Qualcomm MSM8939 processor, LTE capability, and 3000mAh battery.

Huawei gets the help of Harman/Kardon for boosting the audio prowess of their newest tablet, the MediaPad M2 8.0., powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop and an octa-core processor mated to 3GB RAM. The 8-inch tablet features 32GB internal storage, 4900mAh battery, 8MP rear and 2MP front cameras, and LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity.
