Free iflix for PLDT, Smart, Sun, and TNT users announced

Starting mid-December, all Smart, Sun Cellular, and Talk ‘N Text subscribers can enjoy a free three-month iflix subscription bundled with their existing service. Meanwhile, PLDT Home subscribers with DSL, Fibr, uLTEra, or Telpad plans can enjoy up to 12 months of iflix service without any additional charges.

In time for the holiday season, PLDT, Smart Communications, and internet TV service provider iflix announced the partnership deal in a media event at the Parañaque Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La.

To enjoy the free subscription, eligible customers need only visit or go through the iflix app—no sign-up or sign-in is required. iflix’s system can now easily recognize a user based on his Smart connection, and  automatically enable iflix on whatever type of device the user is using, whether it’s a phone, laptop, desktop, or tablet.

It has been an incredible year for iflix, and our latest collaboration is a testament of our commitment to give as many people as possible access to the best in entertainment from across the world. Now anyone with a PLDT Home connection or a Smart, Sun, or TNT number can binge on iflix’s extraordinary library wherever, and whenever,” said Sherwin dela Cruz, iflix Philippines Country Manager.

Meanwhile, PLDT and Smart EVP and Head of Consumer Business Ariel Fermin said, “Our latest collaboration with iflix reflects our promise to drive digital innovations that allow our customers to live a richer and Smart life. In an age where consumer lifestyles are more dynamic and on-the-go we are proud to introduce a world first with a seamless iflix experience that allows our subscribers to enjoy tens of thousands of hours of the Philippines’ favorite TV shows and movies—with no need to sign up or sign-in.”

PLDT Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan also graced the event and led the partnership toast.

iflix is now available in Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines. The internet TV service provider also plans to further expand in key Southeast Asian markets. The service can be accessed here in the country in up to five devices at only P129 per month.
